Job Description
The successful candidate not only requires expertise in systems administration, automations, AWS cloud experience with all key AWS tooling and features but must also possess strong soft skills required to be a successful team member. Examples of these soft skills include: verbal and written communication at the level appropriate for the audience, time management, and the ability to work with others in our international team environment.
In this role, you will be required to not only deploy the end application, but also contribute to the AWS architecture, rollout strategy, monitoring, alerting, reporting, support and maintenance related of the technical infrastructure/architecture (application, network and servers) in AWS.
The ideal candidate will approach with a seasoned appreciation for standardized deployment methodologies, capacity management, automated health monitoring checks, performance management, and incident management for the planned and unplanned disruptions of service with an emphasis on cloud and AWS best practices and methodology.
Most of the systems in AWS will be Linux based so a good understanding of Linux system administration is important. We will have a mix of micro services, serverless (lambda/step functions, etc), EC2, ECS and Docker containers, and several DB and storage approaches. A good understanding of RDBMS, HDFS, NoSQL is an advantage.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree of higher education in computer science, engineering or work equivalent
• 2 years of experience in supporting and administering a highly reliable, scalable cloud environment
• Experience with key AWS services: ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, SNS, SQS, etc.
• Experience with automation and deployment tools: CI/CD, Jenkins, AWS CloudFormation, CodePipeline
• Understanding of security best practices in cloud environment
• Knowledge of Linux system administration, networking, and scripting
• Knowledge of agile DevOps methodologies and tools
