Technology Solutions Professional – Communications
Purpose
The Technology Solutions Professional – Communications is responsible for evangelizing Microsoft communications and collaboration offerings with enterprise and corporate customers by supporting technical pre-sales activities. This includes influencing the sale, deployment and adoption of Skype for Business voice, conferencing, video, and IM/presence solutions—resulting in increased market share and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
•Act as an integral member of Microsoft sales teams in generating excitement in Productivity solutions to fill sales pipeline, accelerate technical sales cycle and secure technical closure through customer workshops using deep technical expertise, effective sales and presentation skills, and superior customer focus.
•Provide pre-sales technical support to enable customers and partners to develop, deploy, and support Skype for Business solutions, including conferencing, video, IM/presence, unified messaging, and Enterprise Voice.
•Own and drive technical portions of pre-sales opportunities from lead generation through to deployment and consumption by driving technical presentations, demonstrations, ADSs, POCs and pilots, leveraging P-Sellers, partners or MCS as needed.
•Develop partner engagements that build the Voice application opportunity pipeline and lead to deployments of Voice and full unified communications solutions.
•Successfully position Microsoft products and services against competitive solutions by understanding customer needs, Microsoft Productivity offerings, and competitor product offerings.
•Be the go-to technical expert on the sales team by maintaining and expanding personal technical readiness, competitive environment readiness, and sales and deployment lifecycle readiness.
•Provide feedback to sales, marketing, and engineering on current and future product requirements and communicate competitive intelligence from the field.
Qualifiers for more senior persons (IC 5 and above)
•Demonstrates the business value of related solutions based on an understanding of the customer’s enterprise IT architecture, customer Business priorities and the competitive landscape.
•Orchestrate cross-workload solutions and engage with TSPs from other workloads
•Participate in the broader industry through blogs, whitepapers, events, and articles for the Communications domain.
Experiences Required: Key Experiences, Skills and Knowledge
•8+ years of related experience in technical pre-sales (preferred) and/or technical consulting roles.
•Strong negotiation, organizational, presentation, written, product demo and verbal communication skills.
•Significant experience delivering persuasive presentations to both technical and business decision makers.
•Strong Unified Communications and Productivity solution selling experience required – including Skype for Business and Office 365.
•Strong hands-on technical experience with Skype for Business server, Skype for Business clients, and Office 365.
•Demonstrated knowledge of Skype for Business federation, interoperability, and integration with Office 365, Office client, and Office server products.
•Demonstrated knowledge of identity, authentication, security, privacy, and compliance topics with regards to cloud and hybrid productivity solutions.
•Demonstrated knowledge of Office 365 deployment and adoption planning tools & processes, including Office 365 FastTrack.
•Demonstrated knowledge of voice and data platforms (TDM PBX & IP-PBX, Video MCU) and networks (PSTN, Wireless, IP).
•Demonstrated knowledge of UC & C Applications (Voice Call Control, Audio/Video/ Web Conferencing, IM/Presence, CDR, E-911, Voice/Fax and Unified Messaging) Enterprise Interaction Management (EIM), Work Force Management, Sales Automation, Contact Centers (ACD, IVR, CRM), Application Integration Services (TAPI, TSAPI, JTAPI, CSTA).
•Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switches, routers, firewalls and SS7/GRR303/H.320/H.323/SIP protocols.
Qualifiers for more senior persons (IC 5 and above)
•8+ years of related technical pre-sales experience preferred and/or technical consultant roles, including ability to design technical architecture
•Proven experience engaging with senior level executives
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Required
MCSA: Office 365 certification strongly recommended
