IT TECHNICIAN – BANGKOK
The international news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) is seeking an experienced IT technician to work at its South-East Asia regional headquarters in Bangkok.
The successful candidate must be flexible, conscientious, reliable and hardworking. He or she must also be able to deal with users and clients, while working under pressure.
The position can require on-call work in the evenings and at weekends.
Good communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team are also essential.
Some travels within South-East Asia required (Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam).
The successful applicant will be responsible for installing and maintaining communications, network and computer equipment used to collect and transmit digital news.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate technical proficiency in the following:
– Installation and maintenance of hardware and software in Windows and Macintosh environments.
– Network configuration (knowledge of TCP/IP protocol) and maintenance including routers, switches, VOIP, WiFi, smartphones, etc…
– Installation and maintenance of satellite equipment
– Video/Photo capture and transmission
Minimum of Associates Degree, or equivalent diploma in computer or electronics related subject.
